A beautiful location, kids were really pleased with the garden and Sky TV! We loved the comfy beds and the proximity to Hawick, sad we were only here for a couple of days! Lynda & George were extremely hospitable – nothing seemed too much! Thank you we’ll be back.

Had a lovely stay here at the cottage. Two days of mountain biking in Glentress was brilliant and we also loved our trip to Edinburgh! Excellent Cottage and location- very tranquil. We received a very warm welcome from George & Lynda and will certainly recommend the cottage to friends and family. Only sorry that our stay was not for longer! We enjoyed visiting Mary Queen of Scots house in Jedburgh. Loved the walk up the hill by the cottage – wonderful views – loads of wild flowers, birds and butterflies, brilliant! We’ve enjoyed a lovely stay- many thanks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay at the Martinshouse. We were warmly greeted by Linda, who showed us the workings of the cottage. She then introduced our granddaughter to the horses in the paddock. Our granddaughter could hardly wait to make friends with the horses, and Linda showed her how to cut up applies, put them in a bucket, and offer them to the horses. The cottage was so comfortable and peaceful, and we liked that it was in driving proximity to Hawick for shopping and dining. It was also centrally located to all the places we wanted to visit in The Borders. The views around the cottage were lovely. The most endearing occasion of our stay was Linda reading the “The Gruffalo” to our granddaughter in Scots. Our granddaughter has since memorized the story — in Scots! We had the most delightful time and we will definitely return soon and often.
